Cocoa Michelle Desvignes Bell, professionally known as COCANINA, is an upcoming singer, rapper, and songwriter. Toronto-born on August 20th, 1999, of English and Tobagonian decent, COCANINA was raised in the Jane and Finch area by a single mother and inspired by her grandfather’s enthusiasm of limericks.
Motivated by some of the greatest, including Lauryn Hill, Ertha Kitt, and The Notorious B.I.G, she is ready to be the greatest of the millennial generation. She has ramped up her music career in the last eighteen months by releasing nine singles, seven music videos, multiple interviews, songwriting for chart-topping artists, and her newest success a five-track ep titled “5”. From month to month her Spotify fans have increased by over 1,000%. She is working on creating more singles coupled with visuals, live performances as well as a full-length album to be released in 2021.
COCANINA’s unique style with versatility in multiple genres and languages, sets her apart from other singers/songwriters. This allows her to reach a wide range of listeners that connect and fall in love with her music.
Through writing all her own material, she draws upon experiences from different parts of her life to share and connect with her supporters.
